Smugglers is situated in Vilanculos and offers comfortable, clean mid-range accommodation in a refreshing oasis of palm trees and lush gardens. Vilanculos is a stepping-stone to the 3 main islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago (Bazaruto, Benguerra and Magaruque) and truly the only way to discover Mozambique and it's beautiful, untouched coastline. We offer comfortable, clean, affordable accommodation - set in a lush garden oasis. We are centrally located near the Vilankulo harbour and are a ‘stones throw’ from the sea. Our rooms are comfortably appointed - mosquito nets and fans are provided. Our bathrooms have an unlimited supply of hot water!

DHOW TRIPS Sail on a traditional – style dhow (complete with motor!) to one of the beautiful Bazaruto islands. Enjoy the multi-coloured marine life whilst snorkeling - or suntan on one of our pristine sandy beaches, whilst lunch is freshly prepared. SNORKELLING / SCUBA DIVING Take a trip to ‘Two Mile Reef’ - one of the best dive sites in Southern Africa. The coral reefs of the Archipelago support one of the ‘most diverse and least disturbed’ marine populations in the West Indian Ocean. The shallow waters between the islands are home to the rare, mystical Dugong. DEEP SEA FISHING Game fish and all other major billfish abound in the waters of the Archipelago. Don’t let these be the ones that ‘get away’! CALAMARI FISHING Try your hand at landing one of these ‘tentacled’ creatures and try to avoid being sprayed with ink! This activity provides fun for the entire family! PARASAILING, WINDSURFING, WATER SKIING AND TUBING This is a great way to get onto the water!
