Sarova Mara Game Camp offers front seats to nature’s most breathtaking show - the wildebeest migration. The endless plains of East Africa are the setting for the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle where, from the vast Serengeti plains to the champagne coloured hills of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, over 1.4 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra and gazelle, relentlessly tracked by Africa’s great predators, migrate in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year in search of rain ripened grass. Sarova Mara Game Camp is well positioned to enjoy this unique phenomenon. The rolling plains around the Camp are teeming with wildebeest, gazelles and zebras during the migration months, and the Camp is situated right in the center of their migration path. Sarova Mara Game Camp is also the ideal choice for those seeking a richer experience of the Maasai Mara that goes much beyond just game drives. By virtue of its location and layout, the Camp offers an unparalleled plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching, mini golf, sport fishing and a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the adjoining Maasai village.

Game Drives The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is the natural habitat for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, hippo, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and many others. Our excellently trained guides and drivers will ensure a memorable game drive in specially equipped safari Land Rover vehicles stocked with binoculars, books and a cooler box. We also offer a packed picnic lunch for guests who want to go for a leisurely game drive. Hot Air Balloon Safaris A hot air balloon ride is one of the most amazing ways to experience the Maasai Mara. Balloon safaris are ideally suited to the Maasai Mara as the open, treeless plains allow many of the animals to be seen from the air and viewed from an altitude of several thousand feet. The savannah scenery is breathtaking. Balloon safaris take off just before dawn so that you are high above the plains in time for sunrise. Flights last for approximately one hour drifting wherever the air current stakes you. Once back on terra firma, the flight is celebrated with a glass of champagne and a breakfast in the bush. Walking Safaris A selection of long walks on the nature trails are on offer within the greater Mara area along the periphery of the park. The walks focus on the wildlife, bird-life, plant-life as well as topography that the Maasai Mara is famous for. The duration of these walks is approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours covering a distance of 9 - 15 km, and include a packed lunch and game drives en-route to and from the walking safari location. Maasai Culture Sarova Mara Game Camp has the rare distinction of being located next to a traditional Maasai Village, known as "The Isokon Maasai Cultural Village", a true showcase of Maasai culture. Guests can interact with the Maasai people and watch them work their crafts like beadwork and wood carving.
