The camp features a traditional African boma, air-conditioned dining room, a wooden deck with panoramic views of the surrounding bush, a swimming pool, and a lounge area with satellite television, continuous internet access, and a selection of books and wildlife videos.

Situated at the southern end of the MalaMala Camp in a prime elevated position overlooking the Sand River and surrounding bush, the Sable Camp is an ideal retreat for the more reclusive traveller who prefers privacy and exclusivity. The Sable Camp accommodates 14 guests in 5 luxury suites and the Lions Den - a 2 bedroomed, spacious luxury suite with magnificent views, accommodating 4 guests. Directions To Sable Camp

Sable Camp is situated in the MalaMala Private Game Reserve, in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is adjacent to the Kruger National Park. Sable Camp is located at the southern end of the MalaMala Camp, its sister camp within the MalaMala Private Game Reserve. The luxurious Sable Camp is in an elevated position overlooking the Sand River and is ideal for guests who prefer more exclusive and private lodging.

Area Attractions

Out on a approx 4 hour game drive from 15h30 or 16h00. Return after a period of night driving where the nocturnal species are searched for by spotlight. These drives normally carry 6 to 8 passengers and are in open Land Rover type vehicles. The driver is an experienced guide who will make the drive more interesting. A tracker sits in front and follows the animals, often off road to secure sightings which are often really close and clear. Early next morning at dawn its up, coffee and rusks and out on a game drive again for about 4 hours returning to breakfast. After breakfast there is an opportunity to go on a guided walk in the bush with an armed ranger. This usually focuses on the tracks, insects, birds and the smaller animals. Alternatively relax at the Lodge. Many have a lovely outlook into the bush, possibly a water-hole at which a variety of animals visit during the day. Lunch and then the cycle repeats with the afternoon safari game drive. Some of the venues dine in open air bomas. Guests sit at tables around a fire in the enclosure. The accommodation is generally rustic, three to five star. There are some super luxury venues too.
