Reef and Beach Resort is located between Jambiani and Makunduchi village, on the Southeastern coast of Zanzibar, just 64km from the capital, Stone Town, and its international airport. Here, you will enjoy a spacious holiday complex by the sea with over 600 metres of sea front. The beaches are pristine and the ocean is clear blue. We are located close to the reef and we always have a fresh breeze from the Indian Ocean, where you will be surrounded by the best service possible, in perfect harmony with nature. The Reef & Beach Hotel Resort has 20 bungalow rooms and 24 suites, a swimming pool, a spa, sand beach, spa & massage area and conference hall, together with our bar and restaurant. We have built a beautiful jetty on the Indian Ocean with a bar and lounge area. We are sure that Reef & Beach Resort has everything to make your stay an unforgettable one. The resort has been renovated in 2014, using materials that are respectful to the environment, and maintaining an authentic African style with European comfort. The management has been taken over by the AtoZ Resort & Safari Group, owned by Bert Schoonvelde, with new daily management and excellent professional staff speaking English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish.

Resort Rooms The resort has five different room types: 16 Ocean View Bungalows, 4 Garden View Bungalows, 12 Luxury Suites, 8 Standard suites and 1 Villa. Wifi is available in all the resort areas. Ocean View Bungalows The resort has 16 Bungalow rooms, located only a few steps from the ocean. All rooms have double and option for extra single bed. All rooms are close to the Ocean and have A/C, minibar, European toilet and cold & hot water, television and hair dryer. All rooms are on the ground floor and don’t have a second floor. In the reception there is a central safe box. Private terrace with table and chairs. Garden View Bungalows The resort has 4 Garden View Bungalows, located behind the Ocean View Bungalows, with a nice view to the tropical gardens and side views to the ocean. All rooms have double and option for extra single bed. All rooms are close to the Ocean and have A/C, minibar, European toilet and cold & hot water, television and hair dryer. All rooms are on the ground floor and don’t have a second floor. In the reception there is a central safe box. Private terrace with table and chairs. Luxury Suites The resort has 12 Luxury Suites. All rooms have double and option for extra single bed. All rooms are close to the Ocean and have A/C, minibar, European toilet and cold & hot water, television and hair dryer. In the reception there is a central safe box. Private terrace with table and chairs. Standard Suites The resort has 8 Standard Suites, located on the third floor and a central gallery. All rooms have double and option for extra single bed. All rooms are close to the Ocean and have A/C, minibar, European toilet and cold & hot water, television and hair dryer. In the reception there is a central safe box. Private terrace with table and chairs. Villa The resort has one free standing villa, with a small kitchen, living room, bedroom and big shower. This villa is perfect for honeymoners or families. The Villa has A/C in the bedroom and a fan in the salon, minibar, hairdryer, european toilet and hot and cold water. A private terrace with sofa, table and chairs.

Area Attractions

Beach and Ocean We have 2 beaches on the resort, you can swim in by low and high tide, the clear blue (azure) is fantastic. From the beach you can see the dolphins swimming and an excellent diving spot is nearby - the reef is only a few hundred metres away. We offer free beach beds, parasols and towels to all our guests. Restaurant service Our restaurant has wonderful and unique ocean-views! Every day we serve fresh food, fruit and much more and have different daily dinner themes. We offer à-la carte and buffet services as well as comprehensive meal plans (bed & breakfast, half board, and all-inclusive). The cuisine is of a high standard and we serve a wide range of food and beverages. We serve a variety of special dinners such as African, Swahili, Lobster, Seafood and Indian.
