Situated in the heart of the Garden Route, this small and personal family owned farm offers you peace and tranquillity like you have never experienced before. Conveniently situated between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, close enough to enjoy all the activities in and around the area (forest/beach horse rides, shopping, great restaurants, adventure sports, ferry trips etc.). Spoil yourself on this 270 hectare retreat, abundant with bird life, protea and fynbos. Stunning views all round. Safe, no through road. Good cell phone reception. Oyster, Ostrich, Stokkiesdraai, Elephant, Choo-Tjoe and Forest self catering studio style units for 2: These units can sleep 2 adults or older kids that can sleep on their own. 4 of the units have kitchenettes and two units have a separate little kitchen. All units have a separate bathroom with shower and toilet. All the units have a spacious, private, partially covered patio and deck with lovely views over the garden and mountains (steps from the garden). The patio’s can open up in-between the units, should 2 or more couples book and want to have easy access to one another. Coffee/tea and amenities provided on arrival. Some units have twin (can be made king) and some have double beds. The Forest has a queen bed. The Forest also has its own paved bbq area in the garden and sliding doors (other units provided with bbq spaces close to the rooms).

2 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (main en-suite, with shower. 2nd bathroom, across single bedroom, with bath). Cape Dutch Style house. 1 double bed, one room with two large singles (good mattresses also suited to adults). Double bed room has a view from the bed! Fireplace, covered patio, fully furnished and equipped (microwave, coffee machine and plunger, 3 plate stove and oven, toaster, kettle, radio/cd player, all crockery and cutlery. No iron, but ironing board supplied. Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room. Separate scullery. Private lapa in garden with built-in bbq, splashpool, boma fire pit and picnic table under shade (paved). Views, DSTV with most popular sport and entertainment channels. Linen and towels supplied, serviced daily except some public holidays and Sundays. About 120 square metres in size.

Directions To Protea Wilds Retreat

GPS: S34° 00 12.0 E23° 15 54.6 I confirm that we are 25kms from Knysna and Plett, about 20 mins drive from both. 15kms on the N2 from either side, then about 9 kms inland good gravel, can be muddy in one place if rains a lot, but no crises. Well suited to normal sedan motors, extremely low profile motors travel with care (e.g. Mini Cooper, very low suspension BMW’s and similar). Please note that due to the very high volume of enquiries, all bookings are taken on a first come, first serve basis, thanks for understanding.

Area Attractions

Relax on the pool deck overlooking a valley of fynbos and the mountains. Take a hike down to the Bitou river (or make use of other walking routes on the property). Bring your mountain bike and explore the farm as well as the mountain bike trails through the Knysna forest a few kilometers away. Pick your own bunch of Protea and Fynbos for only R25! Meditation/prayer bench. Reiki and massage available on premises. Forest horse rides and quad bike rides available on a neighboring farm.
