100km north of Kosi Bay on the Santa Maria Peninsula, Mozambique, overlooking Inhaca Island, lies Ponta Torres Camp. They offer accommodation in 6x 2 bedded en-suite safari tents on wood decks overlooking the Bay. Also they have built new guest houses that are just stunning! like you would somewhat call your dream home. It's the perfect getaway and in style as well. All bedding is supplied. Kitchens are rustic thatch and reed with a braai place, freezing facilities, crockery and cutlery. While Ponta Torres may have wonderful accommodation, the sites are just as amazing. There are many activities to do. Or if you prefer you could just sit back and relax with a book. In the at about 10 am there is no water in the bay. Looking across you can see Maputo. You would say you could walk all the way there. But sadly you cant. On my day I went, I found big star fish in the sand and other amazing creatures. And the peaceful surroundings make everything special. At late noon the water from the sea starts to come in the bay and change what looks like a bed of sand, into an underwater world. Ponta Torres is self catering but there is an area with kettles, spoons etc, to store your goods. But if you wish to bring your own, you may do so. There is excellent deep sea fishing off the Santa Maria reefs only 4km offshore. Hells Gate Channel, between Inhaca island and the Peninsula, only 10min walk away from the Camp, offers excellent surf fishing and fly-fishing for big Kingfish. The area has excellent bird watching as this is the most southerly area for some rare bird species. These waters are increasingly popular with sea-kayakers. Guests can take a day cruise to visit Portuguese Island, and Inhaca Island for lunch in the famous Inhaca Island. Just a few minutes walk down the beach is a snorkelling spot as well as the snorkelling marine sanctuary across the Channel and is accessible by boat. So what are you waiting for! Go take a holiday there. The best place on earth when it comes to seeing all of this, having the experience of peace and fun in the sun. I rate Ponta Torres Camp a must go if your looking for a holiday with everything to relax and have fun.
