For the traveler who does not like to travel long distances by vehicle do not forget that there is a Premier Class Train running from Cape Town to Johannesburg, load your 4x4 on the train enjoy a relaxing 24hours in style and luxury and arrive rested in Johannesburg where you can continue your journey in your own vehicle to Mozambique.

Directions To Paradise Palms

415km from the Lebombo Border Post 332km from Maputo 115km from Xai Xai Travel along the EN1 until you reach Xai Xai. From Xai Xai you will pass the following villages Chongoene, Manjakaze, Chizavane and Chidenguele until you reach Chissibuca. At Chissibuca you will see the R906 Canda turnoff. Turn right. Adjust your vehicles tyre pressure to 1 bar as some parts are very sandy. This part of the journey is 20km but can take up to a half an hour to drive, you will be passing through lots of villages so please drive slowly. The locals are dear to us so please take care. When you reach a fork in the road keep left until you reach a hut which has a Canda Island sign. At the fork continue to the right until you reach the bridge.From the bridge you will need a 4x4 vehicle. Once over the bridge there is an option of two paths, both lead to the same place, when you reach a sign "Canda Laguna" you will see houses to your right, remember do not turn off but continue until you reach the sign 104e turn right and you are at your destination.

Area Attractions

The house is located on Lake Canda and a short 2 min walk from beach. Ideal place for the following activies: Low tide there is a visible reef which leaves a nice calm and safe swimming area in front. Long stretch of beach. At Paradise Palms you have the best of both worlds lake and sea, which provides more than enough opportunity for outdoor activities. Try some fly fishing at the Lake or catch a big one from the beach. Large King Fish of 28kg and Barracuda of 18kg have been caught from the beach. Popular bait are crayfish and prawn. Locals do come to the house from time to time to sell crayfish or when it's low tide go to the beach where you will find a local selling his catch of the day. Surrounding area Maxixe is +- 175km from Chissibuca and well worth the drive. The road in a good condition. It's a scenic drive passing the beautiful lake Quissico and also Inharrime. At Quissico there are plenty of stalls along the road to do some shopping. At Maxixe you can take a ferry to Inhambane or drive by car. Maxixe has a lovely restaurant called "STOP", which has a beautiful view and well worth trying. Friendly service and good food. Remember when planning your journey to Maxixe, all the shops close between 12h00 and 14h00. Large market for shopping. Tofo is 30 min drive from Inhambane and not to be missed out on, book a dive with whale sharks, deep sea fishing, surfing or horseriding or just enjoy the stunning beach. There are plenty of restuarants in the area: Dinos Bar, Threads, Turtle Cove, Casa de Comer, Waterworks Cafe and Mundos.
