we escaped work for a weekend at the nyali beach hotel. the atmosphere is very different from the hotel we stayed at in mombasa proper. the resort is very nice. there is wi-fi in the lobby. the restaurants are classy and service very good. some monkeys came to visit during breakfast! the beach is gorgeous, the sands so white...there is a great set-up area for weddings and parties, and lots of beach amenities (rental beach beds and sporting equipment, etc.). our favorite may have been the beach bar...it was a very relaxing place to stay. i am writing my date as may 2011, but it was in fact may 2010

very neat and clean hotel. Very friendly staff and security is very good. Food is also nice, rooms are very nicely decorated with mosquito nets. the evening service is another feather in the cap. over all the hotel is very good value for money.
