Itinerary

Day 1: Windhoek / Grootfontein (D) Depart for Okahandja and visit the Herero graves and a local handcraft market. Continue via Otjiwarongo, to Grootfontein, the gateway to both Bushmanland and the Caprivi Strip. Accommodation: Khorab Lodge or similar Day 2: Grootfontein / Rundu (BD) Travel to Rundu. Small settlements of thatched rondavels spring up close to the road and the bushveld becomes more dense and greener. The closer you get to Rundu, the more fre-quently you find woodcarvers' huts along the side of the road. The Kavango are skilful woodcarvers. Arrive at the lodge in the early afternoon, and enjoy a sunset cruise on the Kavango River. Accommodation: Mahango Lodge or similar Day 3: Rundu / Mamili National Park (BLD) Continue via Popo Falls to Mahango National Park for a game drive, with a packed lunch. The Mahango Game Park borders on the perennial Okavango River. Characterised by riverine forests, a broad flood plain, magnificent baobabs and large herds of elephant and red lechwe, the Mahango is one of Namibia's most diverse and interesting conservation areas. Arrive at Mamili National Park, and enjoy a game activity at sunset. Accommodation: Lianshulu Lodge or similar Day 4: (Mamili National Park (BLD) Mamili is Namibia's version of the Okavango Delta, a paradisical area of watery channels, reed islands and beautiful wetlands. It is situated in northeastern Namibia in the eastern Caprivi Strip and is home to elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, rare sitatunga and red lechwe, crocodile and hippo, puku and spotted-necked otters. Cruise on the Kwando River and enjoy a game drive in Mamili National Park. Accommodation: Lianshulu Lodge or simlar Day 5: Mamili National Park / Botswana (BLD) Drive to Katima Mulilo, and enjoy a packed lunch on the banks of the Zambezi River. Continue into Botswana for transfer to a lodge by boat. This afternoon depart on a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. The Chobe National Park is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10 566 square km. It has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent, and is renowned for its vast elephant populations.Accommodation: Kings Den Hotel or similar Day 6: Botswana / Kasane / Victoria Falls (B) Game cruise on Chobe River. After breakfast, depart the lodge and travel to either Kasane or Victoria Falls Airport, where our tour ends.
