Directions To Lighthouse Reef Resort

Light House Reef Resort is located approximately 450 kilometers north of Maputo and 26 kilometers south of Inhambane. Most of the roads have been recently upgraded and compares very well to South African standards. The last 26 kilometers is a red sand road and it is advisable to use a 4x4 vehicle or a LDV equipped with diff lock.

Area Attractions

The natural bay, formed by the Paindane reef, is a playground for all watersports enthusiasts and an ideal spot for rock fishing. The snorkling opportunities at low tide is the best in Southern Africa and very safe for small children. The bay also creates a safe launching platform at both high and low tides. The best reefs for Barracuda, dorado and sail fish are only a stone throw away from the Paindane reef. Game fishing with kayaks is also becoming a great attraction because of the natural protection created by the reef. Scuba diving on the manta reef and other closeby reefs is the best in the world and very popular. Whales, dolphins and whale sharks are in abundance and can even be watched from your verandah.
