Kanga Camp is set within a private concession in the most remote part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mana Pools National Park. Located 15km inland of the Zambezi River, Kanga is unique in what it has to offer. With the camp delicately built around the Kanga Pan, which is the only permanent water source in the area year round, the area becomes a hub for wildlife activity and delight to explore on foot. Open between 1 April and 15 November each year ,Kanga Camp is accessed via the Dandawa airstrip – a 2 hour 30 minute air charter from Victoria Falls and / or 1 hour 30 minutes air charter from Harare. Self-drive only recommended for experienced 4x4 drivers. It is a 6 hour drive from Harare and/or Lusaka.

Kanga Camp Amenities

Consisting of 5 elegantly furnished standard canvas tents with en-suite outdoor bathroom facilities, Kanga Camp brings a new meaning to ‘extravagant camping’. In addition, Kanga Camp contains a very lavish Honeymoon Suite with a private deck and outdoor bath, which can be converted to a family unit on special request. The main lounge and dining area consists of a three tiered wooden deck where guests can relax and enjoy views of the animals drinking at Kanga Pan in front of the camp. Incorporated into this decking area is a small splash pool for guests to cool down during the heat of the day.

Area Attractions

With diverse river systems, mixed woodlands thick Jesse bush and open vlei lines, the private concession upon which Kanga exists is pristine and undeveloped, giving up a pure, unspoilt and private experience of this last wildlife paradise. Activities at Kanga Camp include game drives and guided walks led by some of the most qualified and passionate guides in Africa. In addition, subject to availability and on special request (in advance of travel), guests are able to conduct canoeing excursions along the Zambezi River.

General Policies & Disclaimers

The camp is not recommended for children under 7 years. Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted on walking safaris, however guided nature walks around the camp are on offer.
