Directions To Hermanus Beach Club
Directions from Cape Town to Hermanus Beach Club From Cape Town, follow the N2 past Somerset West and Grabouw towards Caledon. After crossing the Houw Hoek Pass (just before Bot River), the road splits into the N2 carrying on towards Caledon and the R320 carrying on towards Hermanus. Follow the R320 towards Hermanus. At the T-junction, turn left and follow the R43, passing the Kleinmond turn-off, Hawston and Onrus and straight into Hermanus. Directions to Hermanus Beach Club once yopu reach Hermanus: Follow the R43 into Hermanus. Pass the traffic light (a Total service station is on your right-hand side) and about 1km further, you'll find the police station on your left-hand side. After the Police Station, turn right into Church Street (the NG Church will be on your left-hand side). Pass through four stop-streets. After the 4th stop street, follow the road until you reach the entrance to Hermanus Beach Club.Area Attractions
The scenic coastal resort of Hermanus is well known internationally by fishermen for excellent fishing - many large sharks and Kabeljou have been caught off the rugged rocks. Located on Walker Bay, Hermanus is the ideal place from which to view the magnificent Southern Right Whales, which spend months calving in the safety of the bay. Most of the buildings in Hermanus are white walled with lime being obtained by burning sea shells and black-thatched with reeds from the lagoon providing the roofing, adding to the charm of this vibrant village. Old-fashioned fishing boats have been placed on the ramp leading down to the water. Old buildings have been reconstructed, and now house a small museum. Hermanus is historically rich with many interesting tales and facts about the people who sculptured the town into what it is today. Hermanus boasts a modern fishing harbour and numerous hotels. The lagoon is favoured for yachting and aquaplaning. A scenic drive cut into the mountainside provides panoramic views of the town and the sea. The Fernkloof Nature Reserve has 16 kilometres of footpaths leading through areas rich in birds, game and flowers.
