Bergplaats Game Lodge is situated on 9 000ha of private land on the plains of the Karoo just 60km outside the town of Beaufort West. Set against a mountain backdrop, the farm supports a huge diversity of more than 1 000 plant varieties from South Africa’s various biomes - the distinct ecological communities of plants in a particular climatic area. Animals abound, and there are more than 50 mammal species, over 300 bird species and numerous reptiles and amphibians in this healthy, malaria-free area. Bergplaats serves as a private safari destination for both local and international visitors and it is also a tranquil retreat for those needing to escape the stresses of city life. We offer Self Catering, Bed & Breakfast & Fully Catered accommodation & can accommodate a maximum of 26 guests. The farm offers accommodation in a fully furnished and equipped four-bedroom farmhouse, Gemsbok Lodge, which can accommodate up to 14 people. The house is connected to a bar and lapa. For the more private clients, there is the exclusive & private Guest Suite @ Gemsbok Lodge. The Private Suite offers 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, private kitchen & lounge. The Suite offers accommodation for 6 people. The large lounge opens up onto a private patio & has its own jetmaster fireplace. Those who want to spend a quiet time communing with God and nature can retreat to a rustic mountain lodge, God's Window, set in tranquil surroundings. The lodge has no electricity, distinguishing it as an environment of complete simplicity and calm. God’s Window can accomadate 6 people.

From Cape Town take the N1 North via Paarl, Worcester, Touwsrivier, Laingsburg. At Leeu Gamka (just after the Shell Ultra City Garage) turn left onto the R353 towards Frazerburg. Travel for 44km and then turn right onto a gravel road. (Please take note this road is in excellent condition and is suitable for normal cars). Travel for 26 km on this road and then turn left at Bergplaats Signage and follow signs to Gemsbok Lodge.

General Policies & Disclaimers

Terms and Conditions: A deposit of 50% of the daily rates will confirm the booking/safari, with the balance due and payable at the beginning of that specific booking/safari. The deposit should be paid in a minimum of 120 days in advance before the commencement of the contracted booking/safari. Minumum 2 nights booking for bookings on week ends. All other charges to be paid before departure. All payments are to be made in cash, travelers cheques or EFT. Deposit Refund Policy: From 21 to 28 days guest forfeit 40% of the deposit. From 14 to 21 days forfeit is 50%. From 7 to 14 days forfeit is 75% of deposit. Less than 7 days forfeit full deposit. All above fee’s only include breakfast. Lunch & Supper available upon request.
