Aloha 9 is situated on Aloha housing estate in Ponta Mamoli. Only a 40 minute drive from the Kosi Bay border, along sandy roads, you will find Aloha Estate. Situated on the beach and has a tranquil setting.
The house has a lodge-style layout, in the sense that the entire house consists of separate buildings, all seafacing and all open up onto the wooden deck around the swimming pool.
There are 5 en suite bedrooms, each bedroom has one California King bed, i.e, extra length King size bed. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms of which 3 bathrooms have a shower and bath and 2 bathrooms have showers. The house comfortably sleeps 10 people. 2 of the bedrooms have ceiling fans. All linen, bath and beach towels are provided.
The house has a private swimming pool and a private walkway that leads onto the beach. Please take note that the swimming pool does not have a child safety net.
The living area consists of an open plan kitchen and lounge. The lounge has a TV with pvr DSTV.
The kitchen is well equipped with a Smeg gas hob, oven, microwave, 2 ice machines, crockery and cutlery for 10 people, 3 fridges, 2 freezers, Nespresso coffee machine (bring own pods with) washing machine, tuble dryer and all the equipment that you would require in a kitchen for self catering. There are 2 filter taps that you can drink the water from, but if you prefer bottled water then bring this along.
All cleaning materials are provided as well as black bags, toilet paper and washing liquid to have your laundry done. The washing machine is to be operated by the staff only. There are 3 full time staff working at this house, you don’t have to pay them their rate is included in the house nightly rate.
A 10 minute walk down the beach brings you to Fredericos snorkeling spot, famous for snorkeling. Ensure that you take snorkeling gear along!
Turtles lay their eggs between November and February which you can witness if you take a stroll on the beach in the evenings after dark. The hatchlings make their way to the ocean from January to March. Humpback and Southern Right Whale sightings are prolific from July to November. Pods of dolphins can be seen all year round. The Elephant Reserve is a 30 minute drive north where you can have a day picnic around one of the lakes and if you lucky you might sight the elephants.
If you wanting to get to the hustle and bustle then its a mere 15 minute drive to Ponta Malongane Village where there are various restaurants. They have local Portuguese flavour, are fairly rustic with views over Lake Sugi, watch the sunset over the lake.
The local currency is meticais but everyone welcomes Rands and there is no need for other currencies.
Ponta do Ouro is a 40 minute drive from the house. In Ponta do Ouro you will find a bottle store, BCI bank (local Mozambican Bank), surf shops, fishing tackle shop, pharmacy, internet cafe, petrol station, colourful food market where you can buy fruit and vegetables grown locally, alcohol, cigarettes, prawns, cashews, bread and the like. Quad bikes, surfboards and kite surfing equipment can be hired and lessons are available in Ponta do Ouro.
Ice can be bought from the the market as well as from local shebeens in Ponta Malongane Village.
If you dont have a 4x4 vehicle, you can leave your car on the South African side of the border, cost is R50 per car per day and your car will be safe. We will then put you in contact with the guy that does our border transfers, he charges R125 per person one way. Once you are at the house everything you require is there.
