I actually got teary when it was time to leave. How attached can you get to somewhere in 11 days!? But attached I was. I can't speak highly enough of Velassaru, the food for every meal, the staff & their wonderful thoughtful service, the villa, everything was perfect. We stayed in a beach villa on half board & loved every single minute. I have been on some amazing beach holidays but this was a step above all else. My husband & I thoroughly recommend it & would return in an instant. May was a lovely time to go, yes it's hot, really hot but there are so many places you can go to keep cool on the island or wade into the crystal clear sea. I was so sad to leave. This is laid-back highly professional chic at it's very best & I hope to return before too long. Amazing.

We went to Maldives for the first time over a long weekend and chose this hotel after checking TripAdvisor and the hotel website, and were very happy to find this place is just WONDERFUL.
Our deluxe bungalow was spacious, clean, modern, great amenities, private plunge pool and just a few metres from the beach front.
The island itself is pristine, water is crystal clear, beautiful fish everywhere, gardens well maintained and other facilities like the pool, library, tennis court, gym are great.
We ate twice in the seafood restaurant and once at the Teppanyaki restaurant, both are fabulous -- the lobster at Teppanyaki was delicious and the private table over water at Sands was also special. Breakfast buffet was extensive and everything was delicious.

We had our second trip to Velassaru and it proved to be even better than our first trip. What a lovely place to spend your time and enjoy your holidays. Hotel facilities are new and well maintained. Staff is nice and helpful. Food is great. Really good snorkeling at dedicated area, lots of fish and corals.
