Enjoy a scenic drive along Chapmans Peak. Hermanus, famous for its excellent land-based whale watching. Explore the exciting mountain passes on the Garden Route. Journey via ferry to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, situated at the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon. Travel along the famous 'Route 62' with it's breathtaking scenery. Explore a wine tour in the Cape Winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Cape Town (D) Arrive at Cape Town International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel within Cape Town. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. A welcome dinner is planned during which your guide will brief you on the program of the days ahead. Accommodation: Protea Hotel Cape Castle Day 2: Cape Town / Simon's Town (B) After breakfast you will be transferred to the depot, for the hand over of your bike. A road-book with detailed maps, route description and GPS coordinates will be handed over to you during the pre-tour briefing. Depart for Simon's Town, following a scenic route along the coast including the Cape of Good Hope, Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak. Accommodation: Quayside Hotel Day 3: Simon's Town / Hermanus (B) After breakfast and the daily briefing from your guide, ride along the coast of False Bay, visiting the coastal villages like Strand, Gordon's Bay, Pringle Bay, until you arrive in Hermanus, the whale capital of South Africa. Accommodation: Windsor Hotel Day 4: Hermanus / Swellendam (B) Today, the route takes you further along the coast of the Indian Ocean to the most southern tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. From here, head inland, crossing the Bredasdorpberge and continue to Swellendam at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains. Accommodation: Swellengrebel Hotel Day 5: Swellendam / Knysna (B) Take the main road, N2, via Mosselbay and George to Knysna. Your base for the next 2 nights. This afternoon enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Accommodation: Knysna Log-Inn Day 6: Knysna (B) This day is spent at leisure, either exploring the town, partake in some of the many water activities or go for a ride to the Tsitsikamma Forest area along the N2 with some exciting mountain passes and stunning views. Accommodation: Knysna Log-Inn Day 7: Knysna / Oudtshoorn (BD) Today, head inland to the mountains and cross over stunning passes to Uniondale. From here you ride along the N9 N12 to Oudtshoorn. Just north of Oudtshoorn, close to the Swartberg Mountains is your base for the next 2 nights. Accommodation: The Oude Meul (The Old Mill) Day 8: Oudtshoorn (BD) This day is set aside to explore the breathtaking Swartberg Mountains with its famous mountain passes and stunning views. Accommodation: The Oude Meul (The Old Mill) Day 9: Oudtshoorn / Montagu (B) A leisurely ride awaits you, making your way along the famous 'Route 62', one of the most preferred rides in South Africa. More breath-taking scenery awaits you as you near the town of Montagu. Accommodation: Montagu Country Hotel Day 10: Montagu / Stellenbosch (BD) Today you enter the Winelands, the beauty continues but in a different form. The route takes us via Robertson, Franschhoek and Pniel to Stellenbosch. Surrounded by vineyards, riding from the one mountain pass to the next, this will be another day you will remember forever. A farewell dinner is planned for this evening. Accommodation: D'Ouwe Werf Hotel Day 11: Stellenbosch / Cape Town (B) Spend some time in the area of Stellenbosch, either shopping, explore the old town or visit one of the famous wine estates, before we head back towards Cape Town. Drop off your bike at the depot in the afternoon, and be transferred back to Cape Town International Airport, for your onward flights, after an exhilarating ride around the beautiful Cape.

VEHICLE: BMW F 650 GSThe F 650 is the smallest and sportiest in the BMW fleet and offers amazing features such as heated grips and ABS brakes. This is a lighter vehicle ideal for off road riding and general touring. Luggage is transported in the back-up vehicle. The bikes are equipped with original BMW panniers to store your day-packs and additional gear.
