Periwinkle is situated on Beachyhead Drive, overlooking Robberg Peninsula, the Tsisikamma Mountains and with direct access to Robberg Beach. We are perfectly situated for leisurely walks or lazy days spent on the beach.
The unique and most exciting feature of this area is the abundance in marine mammals in the bay which is flanked by two marine nature reserves and therefore rich in food for the resident whales and dolphins.
During July to September every year, Southern Right Whales migrate to this part of the Indian Ocean to calve. There are organised boat trips all year round to see Brydes whales and dolphins. Huge schools of dolphin surfing the breakers or leaping clear of the blue sea, are a regular sight throughout the year.

Driving Directions:
Bay air. Nearest Airport is Plettenberg Bay 8km. Airlink flies daily from Johannesburg and twice a week to & from Cape Town.
George Airport. SAA flies daily from all major centres and the airport is 2.5 hours drive by car. Shuttle services operate on request. It is best to hire a vehicle from a car rental company.
By Road:
From Plettenberg Bay Airport, follow the signs to town. At the first circle, turn to your right, 1st right onto Longships Drive and then left into Roche Bonne Avenue. At the T Junction, turn right into Beachyhead and travel for approximately 1.5km until you get to No. 75. The name is outside the lodge.
From Port Elizabeth Airport. Follow the signs to the N2 and take the road leading to George for 2.5 hours (250km). Take the third turn off into Plettenberg Bay marked Piesang Valley Road / Plettenberg Bay South and follow the road until you reach a circle. Turn right and then 1st right into Longships Drive. Take the second left into Roche Bonne Road and at the T-junction, turn right into Beachyhead Drive for approximately 1.5km until reaching No. 75.
