Explore our ‘World in One Valley’ & discover the many wonders our corner of the Cape has to offer. The Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve is situated on Route 62, the longest wine route in the world, and only 1,5 hours scenic drive from Cape Town. The reserve forms part of the Klaasvoogds West foothills in the Langeberg Mountains, 15km between the towns of Robertson & Ashton. Surrounded by high mountains at the end of a country road, we offer a variety of self-catering accommodation in several cosy cottages, larger farmhouses and 2 exclusive units sleeping up to 46 guests in total. Our rustic banquet hall & lush meadows are a perfect venue for your next conference, retreat, reunion, party or wedding.
Our reserve comprises 2000ha of spectacular mountain fynbos with wooded streams & farm dams for swimming & fishing, 4x4 trails & hiking for outdoor enthusiasts, 100 plus species of birds, indigenous fauna & flora. We invite you to escape the hustle & bustle and come explore our hidden valleys with friends & family.
The Busch Family came to Klaasvoogds West in 1966 and settled here in 1979, with the reserve being established in the 1980’s. We pride ourselves on having many repeat visitors, and are a firm favourite amongst nature & outdoor lovers, families, romantic couples, wine tasters, or guests just wanting to get away from it all and enjoy the peace & quiet of the countryside.
We also offer two cottages which are fully equipped for self-catering but with all the extra touches and finer finishes to make your stay a bit more luxurious! Apart from the sweeping views of mountains & vineyards, Nightjar and Hadeda boast French doors and windows throughout, terracotta tiled living areas and carpeted bedrooms complete with reeded ceilings in every room and each offers a spa bath and shower in the bathroom. These cottages are adjacent yet private with separate gardens and entrances, making them ideal for romantic couples. The possibility to combine the accommodation and entertain larger family groups of 6-8 people in comfort also exists by means of a common & adjoining garden door.
