Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Swakopmund / Henties Bay
On arrival at Swakopmund, collect your hired vehicle and make your way north to the small town of Henties Bay. Just north of Henties Bay you will find the biggest colony of Cape Fur seals on the West Coast. It is the spot where Bartholomew Diaz erected one of his stone crosses in 1486.

Day 2: Henties Bay / Damaraland (B)
Drive up the Skeleton Coastline, and then inland across the flat, barren plain towards Damaraland, with its stark plains, petrified forests and ancient valleys leading to rocky outcrops and the soaring peaks of the Brandberg Massive Mountains.

Day 3: Damaraland (B)
Damaraland is one of the most scenic areas in Namibia. From Twyfelfontein you can visit one of the many strange rock formations in this area. One that stands out is a 35m tall pillar called Vingerklip or Rocky Finger, carved over millions of years by wind and rain. The Twyfelfontein area is renowned for some of the best examples of Bushman paintings and rock engravings in Southern Africa.

Day 4: Damaraland / Etosha National Park (B)
Heading northwards, travel to Khorixas, and visit the Petrified Forest, a whole forest of massive tree trunks, up to 30m in length, scattered across the plains. They have now turned to stone, with every detail clearly visible. Hardy desert plants like the Welwitschia grow among them. Continue onto Etosha National Park.

Day 5: Etosha National Park (B)
The entire day will be spent in the park, exploring the waterholes along the enormous saltpan. Etosha National Park is one of Southern Africa's finest and most important Game Reserves. Declared a National Park in 1907, it covers an area of 22 270 square km. The game viewing in Etosha National Park is excellent, and visitors to Etosha Game Reserve can see many buck species, elephant, giraffe, rhino and lions.

Day 6: Etosha National Park / Windhoek (B)
This morning depart for the capital of Namibia, Windhoek. Drop off your hired vehicle at Windhoek International Airport and board your onward flight.
