Mashatu Tented Camp is located in the northern area of the Reserve and provides a rustic, luxury safari experience. The Tented Camp only allows a maximum of 14 guests at a time, thus providing an ideal, private getaway.
Accommodation is in the form of seven twin tents all equipped with modern amenities and comfortable beds. Each tent has an en suite bathroom with shower.
Guests have the option to enjoy meals on their private deck, or can enjoy traditional campfire dinners in the boma. At Mashatu Camp your comfort is the priority of your hosts. You even have your own plunge pool and all beds have mosquito nests.
While on game drives, or enjoying any of the adventure expeditions, you will be attended to by your ranger. On your return to the camp, the staff will attend to your every need. Age restrictions are applied in the interest of personal safety, and no children under the age of 12 years are permitted at Mashatu Tented Camp.

Mashatu Tented Camp Attractions
Mashatu is a great landscape of mopane woodland, centuries-old Baobab, meandering rivers and savannah acacia, inhabited by wildlife of great profusion and diversity. Mashatu is also home to no less than seven of Africa's giants: the African Elephant, the Baobab Tree, the Eland, the Ostrich, the Kori Bustard, Kiplings mighty Limpopo River and the endless African sky. It is fitting therefore, that some 90 000 acres of pristine game land, be set aside for these unique, prodigious features of this exhilarating continent. It is still home to large herds of Elephant, prides of Lion and Cheetah. Along the river courses, huge Mashatu trees shade for Eland, Impala, Wildebeest and Zebra, whilst at night, the Bat Eared Fox, African Wild Cat and the magnificent Leopard search for prey. Mashatu Game Reserve proudly provides a refuge for the largest, single population of Elephants on privately-owned land in Africa. Known as the relic herds of Shashe, these Elephants are the last living testament to the great herds that once populated the meandering Limpopo valley.
Mashatu Tented Camp Facilities
Mashatu Tented Camp nestles in a remote part of the reserve. This idyllic getaway provides twin bedded accommodation in seven large tents. Although rustic in character every facility is provided. The tents are insect-proof, have comfortable single beds and each has en-suite shower and toilet facility. All meals and snacks are prepared with the finest available fresh produce. The cuisine has been described here as "out of this world, the bushveld one."
