Kulungi Riverside Lodge is situated on the banks of the Olifants River in the vast Balule Nature Reserve which is part of the Greater Kruger Park and is a mere 30km from the Phalaborwa entrance gate to the Kruger. 5 private, totally separate, spacious thatched chalets as well as 2 luxury tents. All accommodation units have an en-suite bathroom and a private patio where guests can view the abundant species of game. The chalets have air-conditioning, shower facility only, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. The two Self Catering chalets can sleep two adults and two children.Each tent has a separate bath and shower and comfortably sleeps 3 persons. We regret that there is no air-conditioning in the tents. Unwind during the heat of the day around the sparkling pool and later enjoy a cold sundowner on the lodges patio or at the cosy well stocked bar. There is a TV with DSTV situated in the bar area. The restaurant has a lovely light wooden and bush appearance, where all meals include a Buffet Breakfast and 3 Course Dinner (Starters, Main Course and Dessert) are served each day/night. By prior arrangements at breakfast we are happy to provide a Picnic Basket or a Light Lunch in the restaurant or around the pool. Early morning and evening game drives with a ranger will reveal the wonders of the bush and enthusiastic ornithologists can view over 300 species of birds including the shy Purple Crested Lourie, the fierce and majestic Bateleur, to the rare Pels Fishing Owl. On request only. Golf enthusiasts can unwind on one of the picturesque courses within easy driving distance from Kulungi and a must would be at the renowned Hans Merensky Golf Course where it is common to see elephant, giraffe, warthogs, baboons and a variety of antelope crossing the rolling fairways. Other popular attractions in the area are the Amarula Lapa, Jumbo River Safaris, Masorini Iron Works, Khamai Reptile Park, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and the Cheetah Research Centre.

Please note that NO hunting or fishing is permitting while staying at Kulungi or on any part of Grietjie Private Nature Reserve. For safety reasons we do NOT allow guests to walk outside of the Kulungi’s boundaries unaccompanied nor do we allow walking around after dark as all animals roam freely throughout Grietjie Private Nature Reserve. All bookings are only confirmed once the 50% deposit has been received. Failure to remit the deposit by the due date could result in the booking being cancelled. The cancellation of confirmed booking is subjected to a cancellation and administration fee. Cancellations that are more than 21 days before the arrival date would raise an administration charge of R100.00. Cancellations that are between 14 and 21 days before the arrival date would raise a charge equivalent to one night' accommodation per person or 25% of the total amount paid, (which ever is greater) plus the administration charge of R100.00. Cancellation and amendments that are less than 14 days from the arrival date would raise the total charge. If Kulungi is able to resell the accommodation for the full period cancelled or amended we will be happy to the refund your deposit less an administration charge of R100.00. ALL CANCELLATIONS OR AMENDMENTS TO CONFIRMED BOOKINGS AND APPLICATIONS FOR REFUNDS HAVE TO BE IN WRITING.
