We spent 10 days at the beginning of February in a Water Villa and had a marvellous time. Being on stilts out on the water was a fun experience – I kept thinking we were on a boat and was expecting the room to move with the waves; of course, it didn't. Good firm foundations! The sun deck was discrete and private, and on one evening we had an excellent siting of a pair of eagle rays. Not being on the beach we had no particular bias as to which side to swim or snorkel on and tried both. The western side tended to be calmer than the eastern, and the reef is closer, but we saw loads of fish on both sides including rays and small sharks, and turtles. We had never seen them in the wild before, so that was a bonus.
The island itself is very small and has nothing else beyond the hotel, which suited us. We went to read, relax and snorkel, so were not troubled by the lack of other diversions. It has no paved surfaces, just the sand, which is meticulously raked each day by the ground staff. Generally it all seemed to be very well kept.

We stayed in this resort twice in 2010 and in 2011. Previous years we have been in Maldives for holidays seven times in different resorsts and atolls and Komandoo island was best for us and after first visit we returned back in a year.
This resort is enough typical for Maldives but rooms are really comfotable and all furniture is suitable. They have coffemashine, TV and music centre in each room. Cleaning and service are on high level. Restaurant has enough wide selection and real good quality.
Diving in Laviany atoll is one of best in Maldives and there is one of most famous dive sites like "Kuredu Express". Komandoo island resort has good dive centre with very friendly staff.
One of advantage of this resort is that there are not so many villages and island looks like not busy.

Third visit to this wonderful island. Stayed in beach villa this time. Very well equipped and just a bit smaller than water villa.
Excellent food as with all previous stays.
Cannot fault the excellent service all over the island.
Lovely to be recognised by the staff. Treated well as repeaters - fruit, wine and t shirts.
Saving up to return later in the year!
Cannot recommend enough.
