Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh

We changed to the Hyatt from the Four Seasons because of a hygiene issue. We were extremely well looked after by the staff in the Hyatt and although the hotel needs a bit of TLC the resort as a ‘package’ gives far better value and standards of service than the Four Seasons. This is a 5* resort that easily justifies its star rating. The staff are genuinely friendly, the rooms have great sea views and the general atmosphere in the hotel is friendly and accommodating. All the food outlets are of a very high standard and reasonably priced, except for the cost of wine, which is expensive in all of the hotels in Sharm. Egyptian wine €35 a bottle, French wine €100+. Dining at the Souk was an innovative experience that gave access to a wide range of superb cooking that was paid for from the bag of coins that each dinner guest was given they are shown to their table. Different entertainment was provided each evening while you dined, most of which was of a high standard. The house reef is superb and there is no need to snorkel anywhere else, most of the day trip boats stop here on their itinerary. There is a free shuttle service to Naama Bay although a taxi should only cost about €4 each way.
