The Wolhuter Tented Safari is a back to nature experience, no en-suite bathrooms or electricity! We provide the best possible portable bush showers and toilets. Our catering is 5 star 'bush cuisine' provided by a back up team of a chef and camp assistants. So whilst we do not expect you to help in any form of camp life, please bear in mind that this is a camping safari albeit a first class experience. The Kruger National Park has identified several 'wilderness' campsites for the exclusive use of the tented safaris within the central and southern section of the Park. Each site, situated in an area of unspoilt natural beauty in rich in bird and animal life. The sites have no name and are often found at the end of rough bush tracks, so don't look for them on the map!

Family Small Groups on Safari - Wolhuter Tented Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kruger National Park (D)
Clients depart from Hazyview at 12h30 (allowing clients to connect on the Johannesburg - Hazyview shuttle if necessary), in an open safari vehicle to Skukuza for lunch (own account) and an introduction to the Park. Guests should use this opportunity to shop, as there are no shops at any of our sites. This area of the Park offers excellent game viewing and bird spotting and we can expect to see general game, possibly lion and elephant and maybe even an elusive leopard. The guides prefer to use seldom driven back roads on their way to the overnight camps. On arrival at camp guests are shown to their tent before meeting for sundowners and dinner. The setting of the camp allows for after dark game viewing by spotlight. We hope to be in for a noise-filled evening.
Day 2: Kruger National Park (B/D)
An early morning wake up accompanied by freshly brewed tea or coffee and biscuits, is followed by our first game drive of the day with brunch at a picnic site. Continue the game drive until lunchtime when we return to camp for a siesta. As the afternoon cools down we make our way back into the bush for a late afternoon game drive. Dinner is served around our campfire and as with the previous evening opportunities exist to view game by spotlight from the campsite.
Day 3: Kruger National Park (B)
After breakfast we drive back to Hazyview via Skukuza and the Paul Kruger Gate, hoping for that final memorable game sighting. We will be back in Hazyview at 12h00 (giving clients time to connect with the Johannesburg shuttle at 12h30 if required) where the Wolhuter Tented Safari ends.
