It is here that one drifts off into peaceful slumber with dolphin experiences guiding you into dream-time, with the hum of the ocean on your doorstep.
Magical and quaint, Dolphins BeachCamp had been home to us since 1997 and with direct beach access, early mornings are spent watching the magnificent sunrise, searching for dolphins, sussing out the waves and monitoring the wind before embarking on dolphin swims.
Constructed out of local materials and wood the Dolphin BeachCamp offers a space that is tranquil and peaceful. Wind chimes and hammocks adorn this little island style paradise that has been decorated by Angie with a splash of trendy hip-ness encompassing all that is dolphin!
The BeachCamp is a wonder for kids, taking them into a space of nature, Robinson Crusoe style…no tv, no play station and no computer games. Just the beach, the dolphins and you! Stylish ablution facilities are within the Dolphin BeachCamp and have hot water showers. The Dolphin BeachCamp houses our Dolphin Center and Curio shop as well as Angie’s dolphin library.
Meals are served at the BeachCamp and are prepared fresh by our resident chefs Roxy and Tina. Brunches include fruit, muesli, yogurt, cereals, muffins and a cooked meal i.e.: omelettes. We do cater for vegetarians on request. Please specify on booking form. Dinners are set and a vegetarian option is available. Meals include Prawns, Portuguese Chicken, and Roast lamb served with a salad, local bread and dessert.
There is a set lunch menu available daily for your convenience at the camp.
There is a small bar for dolphin clients selling local drinks only. Please bring your own fancy potions. Tea and coffee is available throughout your stay. We have no self catering facilities. Please bring your own drinking water however it is available at the bar.

WHALE WATCHING
Ponta do Ouro is a prime whale watching venue as both the Humpback whales and Southern Rights migrate up the coastline northward bound to warmer waters for the purpose of mating and calving. Later during the year we will enjoy them moving down south again to cooler waters. Our whale season generally starts at the end of July and we have had sightings right up until the end of November.
SCUBA DIVING
Ponta do Ouro is famous for its beautiful underwater kingdom and here arises the opportunity to experience this underwater habitat. Dive depths range from shallow to deep, depending on your qualifications. There are a number of dive concessions in the area that we will happily arrange you’re diving through. Please note a valid sea card in imperative. Whale sharks frequent our waters in the summer months with the whales in the winter months.
Dives prices start at around R220 depending on the concession you use.
