In a nutshell, a visitor to the Cape Care Route will learn how communities are building their own houses, growing food for themselves and their families and developing skills to turn waste materials into contemporary arts and crafts. Projects are aimed at rehabilitating degraded natural systems, as well as those that demonstrate how ecological systems are being protected, can also be visited.

TABLE MOUNTAIN AERIAL CABLEWAY
Step aboard the Cablecar, for a gentle ride up the slopes of Table Mountain, for un-paralleled views of Cape Town and the azure blue seas of the Atlantic Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. The ride up and down the mountain is approximately 6 minutes, however once on top visitors can stroll the 2km pathways and many viewpoints and simply take in the views at their leisure. Facilities at the top of the mountain include a Restaurant, Bistro and the 'Shop at the Top' which sells gifts and curios.

OPERATING TIMES (these vary throughout the year) Summer 08h30 to 20h30 and Winter 08h30 to 18h00. The Cableway is operational 365 days a year (weather permitting). Facilities at the top of the mountain are wheelchair friendly.

TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM - V&A WATERFRONT
A WINDOW ON THE WONDERS OF THE OCEAN
The Two Oceans Aquarium offers a glimpse of the diverse life off the South African coastline. The Aquarium offers unique opportunities such as diving with the sharks or feeding the fishes in the Kelp Forest Exhibit, copper helmet diving, sleepovers for children and facilities for conferences and functions as well as the daily feeding of the fishes in the I&J Predator Exhibit. Light classical concerts are performed against the spectacular backdrop of the marine environment.

The route also includes up-market tourist facilities to observe how they are reducing their consumption of resources an working with poorer communities in their areas. An important focus is on projects which show how partnerships between business, government and communities are helping to protect the rich natural resources of Cape Town and to provide healthier and cleaner living environments in poor communities.

Above all, the route demonstrates the link between people and the environment, and the range of projects included will challenge visitors to take a different view of the relationship between humankind and the environment.

THE WALK TO FREEDOM TOUR
FULL DAY-DEPARTS DAILY 08h30-17h00 Full day tour includes a trip to the World Heritage Site of Robben Island. Begin with a tour of Bo- Kaap (Malay Quarter) and then onto District Six Museum. From here tour Langa and visit the Tsoga Environmental Gardens. Continue to Guguletu township. Then sample a slice of township life with a visit to a spaza shop, a sheeben and hostels. Have lunch at V&A Waterfront (own account) Afterwards a 3-hour cruise and tour of Robben Island.
