LADY GREY
Lady Grey is situated in a little valley in the Witteberg Mountains, a branch of the Drakensberg Mountain Range. When the town was established in1858, the inhabitants thought that a good way to get Governmental funding would be to name the town after the wife of the then Governor of the Cape, Sir George Grey. They were unaware that Sir George and his wife loathed each other and lived apart.
Lady Grey has a beautiful setting and possesses many fine buildings notably the Art Nouveau Dutch Reformed Church. The town is in the premier fly fishing area of South Africa, and there are a number of awe inspiring hikes in the Witteberg Mountains
