Bazaruto Island is one of five principal islands in the Bazaruto Archipelago, which lies just 30 kilometres off the coast of Vilanculos in Inhambane Province, Mozambique.

Bazaruto Island is one of Africa’s premier scuba diving destinations. The island is situated in the magnificent Bazaruto Archipelago, with its numerous, vibrant coral reefs and crystal clear waters - a scuba diver's paradise!

The Bazaruto Archipelago has been considered one of East Africa’s best, and certainly Mozambique’s, premier fishing destinations since the late 50’s, when pioneer anglers fishing from the basic fleet at Santa Carolina island discovered a very healthy population of giant black marlin in a sea which teemed with other, then so called “lesser gamefish.”

Bazaruto Island is 750km north of Maputo. It is 37km long by 7Km wide. Savannah grassland is found to the west of the island, in the East there are entirely sand dunes which change colour in the different lights of the day. Mozambique’s coral reefs are among the most beautiful in the world. Bazaruto is the best place for these fragile ecosystems which are an idle place for the traveler to relax after a Southern African safari.
