COVID-19

We know that travelling during a Pandemic can be very daunting and we are here to navigate you through the COVID-19 minefield and ensure that you have the holiday of a lifetime.

What you should know about travelling during COVID-19

Before you Travel
  • Check which destinations are accepting South African with no mandatory quarantine period. If you only want to take a 7-day holiday, but the destination you choose is enforcing a mandatory quarantine period of 14-days at a government selected property, this means you will not be able to enjoy your holiday at the hotel you choose and you won't be able to leave your room for the entire time. Certainly not the holiday we all dream of!
  • Check if the destination you are travelling to requires you to be in possession of a negative PCR Test on arrival and how far in advance you would need to have this, taking any overnight travel into consideration.
  • Check if the destination requires you to complete any health declarations prior to arrival.
  • Check the cancellation fees of the airline you are travelling with and the hotel you are staying at. Should borders be closed again either in South Africa or in your destination, will be you eligible for a refund or will you be able to rebook an alternative future date at no penalty?
  • We strongly recommend that you have comprehensive travel insurance, that will not only cover normal travel emergencies, but will also cover the costs of quarantine in destination should you or your travel companions test positive in the destination.

South Africa requires you to be in possession of a negative PCR Test, not older than 72hrs, in order to board your flight. This means that you will need to arrange to have a PCR Test 3 days before travelling back home.

  • Check what provision has been made for PCR Testing in your destination.
  • Check if the testing will take place at the hotel or at a medical facility in the destination.
  • Check what the cost of the test is per person, so you can budget for this as it will have to be paid directly in the destination.
  • Check if you need to book the PCR Test when you arrive at your resort
  • Follow all safety protocols in place at your hotel and in the destination - they are in place for your own safety and the safety of your fellow travellers
