Chavda Hotel is located in the central Shangani district of Stone Town just 10 kilometers from Zanzibars International Airport. Like many others in the area, Chavda Hotel used to be a merchants large Arab mansion, dating back to when the trade of spices, ivory and slaves on the island was at its peak. Since then it was bought over by Ashook Chavda who spared no expense on the renovating construction of this property back to its former glory, from its attractive entrance with oriental lamps and beautiful wood carved doors to the modest reception area that opens into the inner courtyard with a small fountain at its centre.
Chavda is a small, well maintained hotel in the heart of Stone Town, and in close proximity all the major attractions and activities, ideally located to give you a perfect location to explore the city of Stone Town. There are good curries and the menu includes Indian, Chinese, and European dishes with fresh vegetables, fruits and seafood .
