We spent a week here before moving on to another island and wished we had stayed for two weeks, it was fantastic. The service was excellent, there were 50 rooms and all the staff seemed to know who we were and would do anything to make our stay a good one. The food is excellent as are the house wines and cocktails. We had a jakuzzi room and would recommend this as they are more private and are on the sunset side of the island. The snorkelling is amazing as the house reef is so close to the island. Boats to the Banyan Tree run regularly which enabled us to see the sting rays nd the turtles being fed. We have been to the Maldives several times since 2001 and would recommend this island, when we left I asked my husband what he would change and he said 'nothing'

I stayed at Angsana Ihuru last November for 4 days before going on to a safari boat to dive. I chose it for being not too far from the airport, not outrageously expensive, but a quiet, lovely, luxurious spot that claimed a beautiful house reef. Indeed, Angsana is much less expensive than its sister resort, Banyan Tree, just a very short boat ride across the lagoon. We saw Banyan Tree when we went there one day to dive, and I preferred the smaller, quieter atmosphere of Angsana. The rooms were perfection. My room opened out onto the beach in front of the best part of the reef which was absolutely beautiful. I snorkeled several times and saw a black tip shark the first day! There were tons of fish, anemones, and colorful coral. The food was quite good, mostly buffet, which was fine. The service was impeccable and someone was always asking if there was anything they could do to make my stay better. The spa was unbelievable. I've had spa treatments in some of the finest spas, so I'm not easily impressed. I had a Balinese massage and body scrub that was such a wonderful experience because of all the little details that they don't leave to chance. Our transfers were handled seamlessly and we were always given cold towels and cold water to drink. It was pampering all the way. I would return in a heartbeat!

Excellent location, just 20 minutes of speed boat from male' airport, rooms are small but we heard that they are renewing them for summer 2012! The little courtyard is just perfect for relaxing afternoon naps, food quality is good, even if a richer variety will be more appreciated. All staffs are kind and friendly, the house reef is the best in the area, you just need to swim 5 meters to have a close contact with turtles, sharks and colorful fishes. The price is high but definitely worth it!

We stayed at Angsana March 2012. I really cannot add any more positive comments than already appear on this site. A very small Island, very quick transfer by boat. I found much more comfortable than the 40min plane ride we have experienced in the past. Although the island is due for a refit in April the Deluxe Villa we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. Loved the terrace we could sit on in the evenings, please keep this in the refit!!! The only thing really needed in the refit is more wardrobe space. We stayed on the West side and watched the sunsets, thank you Angsana. On the House reef, perfect, I bought a small underwater camera and have taken many delighjtful photos. The Staff are very friendly and helpful; food good. The chef on the 'live' cooking deserve a mention. He could open a very successful restaurant here, he was magnificent. We were told we could visit Banyan Tree on the boat shuttle, but Angsana Ihuru was all we wanted!! We are coming back next year Angsana, we would love our room 23 again and look forward to seeing the results of the refit.
