16 Day Best Of Namibia And Botswana Itinerary
"DAY 1 - WINDHOEK – OTJIWARANGO
On arrival in Windhoek you will be transferred to our offices where we will complete all paperwork and other formalities. We depart for Otjiwarongo in the afternoon where we camp for the night
Overnight Otjiwarongo campsite.
DAY 2 - OTJIWARANGO – ETOSHA
After breakfast we depart for Etosha National Park - This is one of the major sanctuaries for wildlife in Africa. The heart of the park is the Etosha Pan, meaning ""place of dry water,"" an extensive, flat depression of about 5000 square kilometres. This great, white expanse is a place of shimmering mirages; seeing large herds of game in this setting is a uniquely African experience. Overnight Namutoni campsite.
DAY 3 - ETOSHA
After breakfast, we depart on a full day of game viewing en-route to our next camp – Okaukuejo, well known for its floodlit waterhole. Overnight Okaukuejo campsite.
DAY 4 - KAMANJAB
This morning it is time to head to Outjo where we will make a stop in order to stock up on food supplies and drinks. Our next destination is Kamanjab. Overnight Kamanjab campsite.
DAY 5 - RUACANA
This morning it is time to head West to Ruacana. Set up camp on arrival. Overnight Ruacana campsite.
DAY 6 - OSHAKATI
Today we travel North of Namibia to the town of Oshakati, very near Ondangwa, well known for its “Cuca” shops, named after long gone Angolan “Cuca” beer. Our campsite is close to town. Overnight Oshakati campsite.
DAY 7 - RUNDU
We leave Oshakati today and travel to Rundu via Grootfontein. Tonight we will sleep on the banks of the Okavango River. Close to Grootfontein is the 60 tonne Hoba meteorite, the largest of its kind in the world and unique due to its cuboid shape. Overnight Oshakati campsite.
DAY 8 - KATIMA MULILO
Katima Mulilo, which means “dim the fie”, is the capital centre of the Caprivi 500km East of Rundu, situated in the far North East of Namibia, along the Zambezi River. It is also the gateway to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. Tonight we stay in a camp along the almighty Zambezi River. Overnight Katima Mulilo campsite.
DAY 9 - VICTORIA FALLS
After an early morning game drive, we leave the Zambezi area and cross the border into Botswana, and via the Chobe National Park and Kasane, travel to the Kazangula Border where we enter Zimbabwe. Our lodge for the next night is in the town of Victoria Falls. Overnight at a lodge in Vic Falls.
DAY 10 - CHOBE
After breakfast, board our truck and cross the border into Botswana. Once in Botswana, we head for Chobe National Park. Our campsite for the night is along the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe, which is the second largest national park in Botswana, covers 10 566 square kilometres. We will enjoy an afternoon boat ride on the Chobe River. Overnight Chobe campsite.
DAY 11 - SAVUTI
Today we head to our next camp – in the Savuti area. Savuti is famous for its elephant hunting lion prides. We spend the afternoon game viewing before returning to camp. Overnight at Savuti campsite.
DAY 12 - MOREMI
Today is spent game viewing and relaxing at the camp. Overnight Moremi campsite.
DAY 13 - MAUN
Returning to the mainland, we pack our vehicle and head to Maun. Our night is spent at a camp close to this frontier town. Overnight at Maun campsite.
DAY 14 - MAMUNO
After breakfast we head out of Maun towards the Namibian side of Mamuno, camping close to the border. Overnight at Mamuno campsite.
DAY 15 - WINDHOEK
An early morning visit to Dune 1. Then it is time for final the final leg of our journey to Windhoek. Spend the afternoon exploring the city. Overnight at a lodge in Windhoek.
DAY 16 - WINDHOEK
After a relaxing morning, your safari comes to an end with a transfer to Windhoek International Airport."
